Living History

I stopped by this third grade teacher's classroom, and as we chatted, my eyes were drawn to this amazing photograph. It is actually a picture of this teacher as a third grader herself, dressed in Colonial wear in her family home in Philadelphia. Her home dated from the 18th century, and the historical society sent over the costumes to create an authentic tableau. How wonderful for her current students who study the same period of Colonial America to see their teacher as a model for their own research!

That is fun. My high school students loved hearing stories about me in high school. It was sort of funny- as to them my high school years were ancient history!
