The Magic Cube was created in Hungary in 1974 by professor of architecture Erno Rubik. By 1980 the Ideal Toy Company had taken over world-wide distribution, renaming it the Rubik's Cube. Since then it has been engineered to be lighter and faster and has sold more than 350 million cubes. After disappearing from the toy landscape for many years at Collegiate, it has recently re-emerged in the Lower School. I don't know how expert these Second Graders are, but they certainly demonstrate perseverance in trying to crack the puzzle of this infuriating game!
How cute- I had a friend that got so annoyed with this (would get everything in place but for one square!) that they took it apart and glued it back together the way it was supposed to look when solved!
