Not Eggs At All

A teacher whose father has a fig tree brought this egg carton to the library this morning to share the bounty of his harvest. I took a few but I'm not sure what to do with them. I love fig jam on ham sandwiches and as a spread with cheese, but I don't know what to do with the ripe fig. Any suggestions?

These figs look delicious. Lovely suggestions here: http://www.olivemagazine.com/guides/best-ever/best-ever-fig-recipes/

@gijsje I'm drooling, Bep! They sound delicious. I may try roasting.

Peel them, cut in half, and make a mixture of ricotta cheese, salt, pepper, lemon juice, fresh herbs -- parsley, basil, thyme. YUM!
