I don’t go to the movies often, but John and I really wanted to see They Shall Not Grow Old and it finally came to Richmond. The movie was extraordinary, but my antipathy for movie theaters was confirmed. The listings said the show started at 1:20 so we got to our seats at 1:10 prepared to settle in. Unfortunately we were subjected to the LOUDEST barrage of ads and trailers for 20 minutes without pause. Even with ear plugs I could hardly stand it. Fortunately when the movie itself started there were no additional problems and it was worth the loss of hearing. If you want to know what movie drew me out of my self-imposed cocoon, check it out. https://youtu.be/EHYRfukHToc Especially my British friends.
This was on BBC television in November 2018.
It was well received by public and press.
