When I had had enough of the Watermelon Festival, I walked to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, just a few blocks away, to enjoy Gospel in the Garden, a free program of gospel music set up on the grounds of the museum. Since it was quite hot, most of us find spots in the shade to enjoy the enthusiastic singing.
Wonderful! So nice to be able to hear outdoor music again. (But Jazz Fest in New Orleans was just cancelled again because of the latest surge in Louisiana.)
