From the VMFA exhibit of the work of Whitfield Lovell, this is a series called “The Card Pieces.” It utilizes an entire vintage deck plus a joker. Lovell explains that “the most exciting part of the process occurs when I deliberately and carefully choose the card that best fits the drawn image.”
