Not a gravestone as some have thought but a boundary marker stone of the land that once belonged to William Hollins Company the textile company in Pleasely Vale. William Hollins was a remarkable man who built the cotton mills that are now small business units owned by Bolsover District Council. There is not much left now of the boundary structure and this stone is still in very good condition considering its age.
