Thought some of you might be interested in the technical deatils of this one: Fujifilm X-T2 camera, XF14mm F2.8 R, F/2.8, 1/200 sec. Processed in Alien Skin Exposure X4. I took this on a rather overclouded day and I am rather pleased with the result! Interestingly I had the camera set on fully automatic, a change from my usual fully manual, but I thought I would try it to see how the X-T2 coped and after reading of a number of well known photographers (including Martin Parr) who always do this. I did have, however, the camera set to record on two cards one jpg and the other RAW. This was processed from the RAW version.
Dorothy is a friend who is not overfond of being photographed but even she likes this one. I use the 14mm quite a lot and find it versatile enough to count as a good all-round lens. The X-T2 is the best camera I have ever owned and every time I use it I congratulate myself on swapping from Canon!
Thanks for the details. It's an interesting debate about Full Auto mode. I quite like having to learn and deploy skills, so manual settings are good for that, but I'll happily use full auto and not be at all ashamed about it.
@peadar I actually shot all of the images whilst at this location (Renshaw Hall, Derbyshire) on Full Auto and really to my amateur eye I can't tell much/any difference to when shooting fully manual. I am now thinking that there are a lot of advantages in Fully Auto! Not least the argument that the cameras today contain exceptional technology so why not use it? I will probably stick with it for a while and see where it leads me.
