Red Riding Hood Construction by alophoto

Red Riding Hood Construction

Red Riding Hood went into business for herself after doing away with the big bad wolf that ate her granny. I watched her and her coworkers in action out my back window today.

I found it funny how three men in matching red hoodies were up on ladders, working side by side. It seemed worthy of a photo and my project needed some color. Man, I feel so bad for people who work out in the elements on a day like today. The high is 34 degrees (that is the high, people) and it is snowing on and off.
Haha great shot - like the symmetry, the red against largely white and your title :)

and its snowing hope the work was important

Whats the guy on the left doing? Meditating on the job?
March 13th, 2013
Nice one Amanda. Love the pops of red. I often feel the same for those who always work outdoors.
March 13th, 2013
@fueast I was wondering the same thing. Weirdo. I had a bunch of photos and he was doing the same thing in most of them.
March 13th, 2013
Great shot!
March 13th, 2013
Great capture, Amanda! This is well spotted. Love the pops of red.
March 13th, 2013
Brilliant shot :) The one on the left however looks out of sorts!
March 13th, 2013
I think the one on the left is banging his head against the wall in dispair. The red does look great on this.
March 13th, 2013
Looks like Christmas! The red sweatshirts against the white snow makes for some nice contrast!
March 13th, 2013
wow! great shot! I love this!!!
March 13th, 2013
Great contrast... Which is the real red riding hood? Or are they all imitations?
March 13th, 2013
The guy on the left is a level-headed guy warming his hands while waiting for the guy in the middle to hand him the measuring tape. The red hoodies are for visibility for when their hands get too cold to hang on and they fall off the ladder and into a snowbank. There is probably a fourth guy in the heated van with the motor running and a cup of hot coffee on alert in case he needs to shovel someone out.

Hah, good for Red, she got something out of the whole story. Love the snow!
March 13th, 2013
Fun photo, fun caption and funnier story. Aside from that, love the pops of red and the falling snow. Will it ever end?
March 13th, 2013
Great pic
March 13th, 2013
My what big windows you've got grandma! Lovely candid shot Amanda.
March 13th, 2013
Fantastic shot!! Love the title!
March 13th, 2013
Great capture and title. Poor guys must have been freezing.
March 14th, 2013
Pretty funny, and well titled. Tough work in the cold!
March 14th, 2013
haha, this was a great catch Amanda! good eye to spot this:)
March 14th, 2013
Nice pop of red. They look like three cardinal birds.
March 14th, 2013
We're all having way more fun with this than the poor frozen guys in the photo! Love the red hoodies and the white snow -- well spotted and wonderfully captioned, Amanda!

@steampowered Love your witty comments, Paul!! Thanks!

@malc @wendyhgill @bardejov @paula365 @adamj @bristolrose @ididntdoit87 @dreamatrix @barbsmith @violeta @365diasesperando @soboy5 @happysnap @darrenboyj @pflaume @masosy @paulien @mgozzard @sugarmuser

Thanks for your comments, friends. I wonder if they will be back in their red hoods tomorrow? Not sure which of the 3 was the real red. They may all have been imitations. Poor guys. I'll bet they are enjoying their warm houses tonight.

@bpaquette Hilarious. I'll bet you are right!
March 14th, 2013
I like the red hoodie and am impressed they would go out and work in the snow!
March 14th, 2013
Wonderful shot. I love the composition and pops of red.
March 14th, 2013
Love this shot! Clever!
March 14th, 2013
very cool shot. like the pop of red in the shot
March 14th, 2013
I love this one! :) Super shot of them all working together :) I love how the red contasts agains the house :) Amazing eye and capture darling :)
March 14th, 2013
That is such a great capture! Almost looks like a B&W with selective coloring on the people.
March 14th, 2013
I'm with you; I feel for these guys that need to work outside under such weather. Very nice shot and good splash of color.
March 14th, 2013
Love the guy on the left ~ he looks like he is snoozing :-)
March 14th, 2013
Some great compositional things going on here! I love how the guy on the left looks despondent in his pose, when he's really probably just leaning down to grab something.
March 14th, 2013
You really were so right to capture this moment... that it's snowing adds so much to the comedic aspect of it. I love the wave of yellow, too.
March 15th, 2013
great composition. I agree the red hoodies and the ladders made a cool shot..
March 15th, 2013
Fav. I love this shot!

@swguevin @dmdfday @squamloon @archaeofrog @alisonp @anazad511 @l2lumom @kbalychev @abhijit @kwind @nana2r

The guy on the left was that way for awhile...I took a bunch of shots and he was doing the same thing. Taking a little snooze, I think;-). Thanks for your comments guys and thanks so much for appreciating this scene with me. So fun and sad. Today was a lovely day and they were back. Only one red riding hood in the bunch though:(.

@edie You are sweet, Edie. Thanks, friend. What a funny sight, huh?
March 15th, 2013
@amandal Hilarious that he was actually sleeping!
March 15th, 2013
Two work, one nods Funny capture, maybe it's part of their uniform?
March 15th, 2013
Great shot. What a fun capture.
March 15th, 2013
@archaeofrog Or meditating. Something strange to be doing up on a ladder either way!

@frida I don't know. The next day, none of them were in their riding hoods!

@netkonnexion Thanks, Damon. I love to spot strange things like this!
March 15th, 2013
Gawd bless 'em... Very Christmassy for March!
March 15th, 2013
Awesome! I love how the red pops out so much in this shot and love how you can see the snow!
March 16th, 2013
@judithg I'm telling you. They were back the next day, but not in their riding hoods. I was sad, but then happy that I caught them when they were. Thanks for your comments, Judith!

@emrob Thanks, lady. I am so ready for spring. Love the snow, but want some more greenery and blue skies for a change. Hurry up!!!
March 16th, 2013
Is this the same house where we were checking out the painter last year?? Neat capture
March 16th, 2013
@wenbow YES!:)
March 16th, 2013
@amandal LOL, going for a bit of remodelling!!
March 16th, 2013
Shame it's not summer!!!
March 16th, 2013
@wenbow I know. What a waste that they just painted and now they are redoing the siding. Bummer for the workers and the people's bank accounts. But it is sooooo hot in the summer. Either end of the spectrum is pretty miserable. Thank goodness, I don't work outdoors for a living.
March 17th, 2013
how funny!
March 17th, 2013
@vickisfotos Brrr...but what a different find, huh?
March 19th, 2013
true! amazing what we find to shoot here on 365!
March 20th, 2013
Wow, that's a brutal job in that weather. The guy on the left sure has me curious. ;-)
Fun shot.
