Some people wear their hearts on their sleeves. My kid...she wears it right on her face.
Clara put this sandwich cutter over her eyes like glasses this morning and it looked too cute to pass up the photo op. I converted to b&w, but then missed out on how amazingly coordinated she was coincidentally. I'd have liked the eyes to have been more in focus, but it was tough as she only gave me a shot or two and was pretty wiggly.
@bobfoto Uh, ok. I bought it 6-7 years ago to encourage my kids to eat, made their sandwiches into cute hearts a few times and haven't used it since. It wastes bread and I can't bear to do that:). You can find the web site and info on the cutter. That is where I was focusing apparently:).
@amandal - so its like a cookie-cutter and you press it into the sanger and it makes a cute shape? But yes, it does look like it could waste some bread... breadcrumbs?
@bobfoto Exactly. Good idea, but I would probably waste the bread crumbs, though. I normally make 2 sandwiches for us all and we split them. I'd have to make 3.5 if I used the cutter.
@amandal - that does sound a bit wasteful. I think you can freeze breadcrumbs though? OR, you can make the love heart sangers and then take the left overs to the local creek and feed the ducks and turtles?
So cute! I just love her eyes in this and all the great blues and pinks. What great fashion sense she has! And yay for Ingrid! I was looping "At the End of the World" the other night. Have you heard that one?
@seanoneill One of my favorite pictures of me as a kid is when I was 4. I want to try to recreate it with Clara and scan mine and put them side by side in a diptych. Thanks for the inspiration to do this.
@seanoneill Um, mine with be the b&w one;-). I think that it's a polaroid shot. I'll have to try to make hers look like that, too. I will tag you when I post, if I remember:). And I can't find the photo of me on my first look. It had been on a bulletin board of mine for YEARS. Since college. I sure hope it didn't get lost somehow in the move:(. So annoyed that I never thought to scan it before.
@bobfoto I've become anti feed the animals. We live near a lake that has the paths disgustingly littered with the excrement of the geese. Such a mess. I can't have them making more poo by feeding them. I've come to hate the geese. I had one try to attack me earlier in the year when I was getting out of my car to take a photo. But again, a nice idea. I will just stick to the standard sandwich shapes, I think.:) Maybe I will throw in a heart for fun next Valentine's day.
@steampowered I sure do. So glad that she humors me sometimes by allowing me to take her photo. I need to give her more treats for cooperation to make it easier, though. Thank you!
@amandal - in Australia, the native ducks and swans really struggle to process the ingredients in white bread and it kills them slowly. People still like to feed 'em.... :(
@bobfoto A duck lover on here told me about that last year. I've been hesitant to feed em ever since. My poor kids are missing out, but at least we aren't killing anything slowly. We eat whole wheat bread so maybe that is better for them, though?
@bobfoto- ha, I was laughing that you were so interested in the sandwich cutter. To let you know, we have one that makes 2 dinosaurs per sandwich, and wastes a lot less bread. Only the crust really. :) No kid eats that anyway. ;) We also have a bread press which lets you put fun shapes in your bread without wasting anything. Who knew you could do so much fun stuff with bread right?
Cute shot Amanda. Im in for photo field trip whenever. :)
@amandal - yes and know... its the whole processing of grains that is the problem and also grains that are foreign to them. A lot like us. Wheat is screwing up places like Australia, because we are not genetically from a wheat eating society, yet a a country that has grown and dined out on wheat for millennia will show benefits that we don't. At the end of the day, us and the birds should stick to what is best.
@katiebrenkert - I need to see a picture of the dinosaur sandwich maker!
@katiebrenkert Katie, I am thinking that I'd like to go to downtown Cincy to practice city shooting. When would be good for you? Maybe not this, but the following weekend. I think we are booked up this. Sunday nights/mornings are bad. I can typically do nap times (1:30-4 or so).
@psychographer She does. Thanks, Lisa!!
@rachelmackenzie Thanks for your sweet comments, Rachel!!
@steampowered I sure do. So glad that she humors me sometimes by allowing me to take her photo. I need to give her more treats for cooperation to make it easier, though. Thank you!

@bobfoto I've enjoyed our feeding the birds/sandwich cutter discussion, late for dinner;-).
@wind_of_the_sothern_sea Thanks so much, Arefin! I am a blue fan:)!
