Toes in Lake Huron by alophoto

Toes in Lake Huron

This was my kids putting their toes in the icy water of Lake Huron in Michigan. It was their first time to a beach in close to a year. So wish we were closer to the ocean or the Great Lakes. Miss the beach.

All caught up finally with my album. Still hundreds of photos to sort and laundry to do.
Such a sweet shot. I love how still they both look...staring off to the horizon.

Such an amazing picture of your children and the amazing bridge.

It looks like the bridge is running straight into the ocean. A lovely shot.

And they look so relaxed (that water is usually freezing ;-)

@sbolden They were dancing around wild like. I asked them to look 'normal' here. Maybe that was why? It was cold! I so loved it there! It's hot back home!

The composition is so lovely with the bridge in the background and your kids paddling in the water xx

Fabulous composition and it does look like the bridge goes underwater :)

Love this shot of the two of them and your background of course. Would love to live by the ocean and scenes like this. Wonderfully done, Amanda. FAV

So sweet -- love the bridge, the surf and the breeze lifting your daughter's skirt. What a beautiful moment you've captured!

wow, very big lake! how far from the beach (by car) do you live?
August 13th, 2013
@mariyakey Very. We are landlocked in my state. This was a good 10+ hours away. I grew up in Florida and used to have the beach only 45 minutes away. I do miss being close to it.

It does not look warm at all. We are so spoilt living here on the water that doesn't drop below 23ºc and is as warm as 28ºc in the summer.

@thirtysevenways Knowing F temps 23 and 28 sounds Freezing, but I trust you. The cold was fun as it is pretty hot back at home. We didn't swim...just dipped the feet. When we go to Florida it's much warmer water.

@edie @sandypw @cathieg @wendyhgill @tonydebont @malc @psychographer @twr @leananiemand @cathrinemitch

It really is a great bridge. I think that it is 5 miles across, so it is really quite long. My kids LOVED the breezy beach. They were dancing!! Thank you for your kind comments!
