The is underneath the Mackinac Bridge a bridge that spans 5 miles over the place where two of the Great Lakes meet...Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.
We were at this beach recently and as we were walking back to the car, I realized that I should do an under the bridge shot. I am always such a fun of the under pier type shots. I ran over and snapped a few quick ones.
I loved the color of the water. It reminded me of the water in Jamaica.
Great capture, I agree the water is so green just like the Caribbean in Jamaica. Beautiful in contrast to the undercarriage of the bridge. I especially love the light on the beams. Wonderful shot.
How interesting to see the place where the two great lakes meet. I must say I love the composition... I did a similar perspective a couple of days ago http://365project.org/anazad511/365/2013-08-13.
Smashing shot and the rolling waves are great. My apologies once more for getting behind with everything but both of us have been down with an awful tummy bug. And now to cap it all virgin broadband is also down!
that's a pretty solid bridge. So do you live near the great lakes? I only ask, because my US geography is pants but I do know roughly where the lakes are.
@amandal - how many miles can you go in 10 hours? Here in Oz, especially in the 110kph zones, you can realistically with towns in the way, get 900kms in 10 hours. Most aim for about 800-850 with a stop for lunch. Some nuts speed and will get 1100ks in...
@wendyhgill Thanks so much for the fav, sweet lady!!
@tonydebont I am glad that I was there when I was. The shine and sparkle on the water was awesome. I wished that I had someone there for a silhouette shot. Thanks so much, my friend!!
@darsphotos I miss it, too, but the lakes really helped me get my fix. It was nice not to have the salty water for a change, too. Oh how I love the beach. I so want an under the pier beach shot sometime. Thanks for the kind fav!
@bobfoto We can only go 70-75 mph. Let me check the mileage to where we were when I took this (this was from the vacation)...you missed my exotic OH bird yesterday. Bright yellow. One photo back. We were 530 miles away. It took us all stinkin' day to get there. Lots of stops with 3 kids in the car.
Lake Erie is 4 hours from us, so a half day. We are pretty landlocked in the southern portion of OH...except for rivers.
I posted and see that I forgot to tag you...so tag...
@nana2r Aw, thanks so much, my kind friend. I've missed you around, too. How's things been? Nice summer? Mine was busy and I can't believe the kiddos go back to school next week!
@sjodell I want more piers. They are more beachy things I guess. I do have tons of bridges and must get under them for shots more, I think! Thanks so much, Sarah!!

@thirtysevenways Thanks, Andy. I've got to find more to do this with. We have tons of bridges in the city area as it is on a river.
@helixconcepts I love how strong and still they stand! Thanks, lady!!
@darrenboyj Thank you kindly, Darren!!
