I am really digging this shot that I saw and took while at the park yesterday. A tree line reflected in a pond. The rippling water gave it a watercolor impressionistic look and then flipped the reflection and had a little fun with a fancy edit.
I feel my creative juices coursing through my veins again and it feels so nice, so right! Now I just need to get some sleep. It's naptime, but conveniently, I have a team of men scrapping and hammering away at the sides of my house. I need some ear plugs!
Happy weekend, my friends. Thanks again for all of the love, support and prayers and wonderful comments that you've given me this week. You've been such a help to my spirits!
And this image, really looks better large, if you have a sec:). Go ahead, I dare you.
Ok, there's a lot going on here that makes this just WAY cool. The reflection of the sun rays really seal up the illusion. Fantastic eye to see this and great capture.
@rellimdj The light and the ripples at the top are an edit. I fancied it up a bit with an underwater texture that I got from Picmonkey. Have you used that free online editing program yet? So great. And thanks for the comments on my kids photo today, too. That exposure was another example of me using exposure compensation dialed up to a 0.3 to brighten the image. And then I did some post editing (sharpening a bit, contrast upped a tad and some color adjustment). I was really pleased with the result! Thanks, Joe!!
@amandal Thanks for explaining the processing and the setup of the portrait. No I haven't tried Picmonkey yet, I've done everything so far in Lightroom although my edits are very light. I'm not sure how far I'll venture into processing, but I think it will be valuable for me to try some things for creative purposes and with that I'm off to play around with Picmonkey a little before dealing with the chores! :D
Have a great weekend! I will be in Florida visiting my mom next week. I'll be in touch with everyone from there. This is great. It's like a water color, impression work.
@jodimuli Gosh, me, too. I can't stop with reflections and shadows and flipping these days. Thanks for all of your great comments and encouragement, my friend!
Really clever Amanda I like what you have done but it works so well because you spotted a great shot in the first place. I quite like Picmonkey and sometimes tweak my images once they are uploaded as they often look slightly different to how they looked on my screen before uploading. Have a lovely weekend Amanda.
Love this reflection shot and also am glad to hear the juices have started flowing again! Were your ears burning? Michael had such nice things to say about your NY visit! We had a great time -- and not only were our feet sore, but knees, legs, back, you name it! Worth every ache and pain!
@taffy Holy cow, I would have done most anything to have been there with you all. Amazing place and times spent there! My meet up was one of the best days of my life...seriously:). Thanks, friend!!
ha ha - noisy men to keep you awake so you can sleep tonight hopefully - lovely reflection and super colours! create havoc if they dont give you any peace!
@sbolden Thanks so much for the fav, Scott. I really loved this one!:)
@summerfield Aw, thanks, my friend. Appreciate your kind words and fav:)!!
@bobfoto I LOVED how it turned out. Maybe better had the reflections been still/clearer? I dono? I was pleased, though...especially with the water effect at the top.
@thirtysevenways Oh me, too!! Granted I haven't picked up my camera since last week, but man, I got a lot of good shots on that one day. I have some ideas, though, for this week that I am looking forward to trying out. I miss my sunrises, though!
Really appreciate all of your lovely comments, my friends. Hope that you had wonderful weekends. Our weather was sunny and gorgeous and I even took the time to lay out and catch some rays while I still can.
@losthorizon I took many of these recent images on one really good photo day for me. I went through days of no interest in picking up the camera and then had one real winner day and ended up using 4 photos in a row from then. Today I went out again for the first time since then...looking forward to seeing what I captured.
@seanoneill It was something that I saw in the distance, had to excuse myself from a conversation and go shoot it. It just had to be captured. Thanks, Sean. I really appreciate the fav. I loved the way this turned out, especially with the edit. A special one to me. Love it when the phojo returns:).
Fav! I took your dare and enlarged it and it's even better! I also like how the sunlight is shining down from the upper corner. So creatively presented to us.
