I'm trying to get in my fill of the lake in the next couple weeks. This has been one of my favorite spots around it. This little cove around the bend from us. In it, sits Puff the magic sailboat. And Puff is so beautifully reflected in the water, beckoning to me.
I hope to get out there for one more sunrise at the gazebo, maybe this weekend. My gazebo. How I grew to hate it, yet its a part of me. Funny how that works out.
I am grateful that the lake will only be 15 minutes away. I still hope to go over and run there once a week or so.
It's Friday, we close this afternoon...let's do this...Happy weekend, friends!
What a lovely setting and image! (we had a small sail boat that we named "puffin") Nice memories. Such lovely light and reflections!!! Congratulations on the closing!! Cheers!!
the only boat, alone but not lonely. this is one beautiul scene, reassuring that all is still well with the world. you're lucky to have this at your disposal. good luck on the closing.
Oh! What a gorgeous serene place! I hope you can make the time to visit often after your move! Congratulations on closing! Take a deep breath and make sure you keep the pen that you use to sign your life away with!
Congratulations on your closing. This is a beautiful shot. I can see why it is one of your favorite place. You are lucky to be only moving 15 minutes away. Two years ago we made a 4-hour move, which wasn't bad. But, last summer we moved 1000 miles. That was no fun at all. Expecting to move 800 miles this summer. Not looking forward to that at all. Tired of moving, but at least we are moving south into warmer territory.
@amandal Looking like Ft. Bragg, NC, but not certain yet. I'm hoping we stay there at least 3 years. Moving 3 times in 3 years stinks. We didn't even unpack half of our stuff this move. Those really long moves are awful. We moved from Germany to IL 20 years ago. Didn't see our stuff for 3 months. It was like Christmas when it finally arrived! LOL!
@homeschoolmom NC would be a nice place to live, it seems. Military moves, huh? I feel like we move that frequently, but hope to stay for a long while now...
That really is a very pretty reflection and I can certainly see the appeal of the place. Nice that you will still be close enough to visit regularly. Lovely shot.
If I couldn't have lake beside those house, I would choose woods. Did live beside woods for 15 years but they kept cutting the trees down! You can't drain a lake! This is so beautiful - fav
Fab image ...hope the closing went well .. many congrats on such a important moment in your life ... hope your new home is blessed with happiness, love and health ... !!
@maggiemae I'd love to live on the lake! They do drain this one somewhat occasionally, but....I sure hope we don't lose many trees in our woods. It's awful when they get diseased and need to be chopped. That would be a huge bummer. Thanks so much for the fav, Maggiemae!!
@megmills I can see that!! Thanks so much, my friend!!
@anazad511 Thanks so much, Ana. Really appreciate your sweet words and fav!
@deniseescovino Oooh, that would look nice, but my gosh darn lens makes getting the tops of trees in their tough, unless really far away. I did take some shots today that I will post soon with tree tops:). Thanks, lady!
Thank you all for your lovely comments. I needed this serene scene to start off the crazy times. The closing went fine, thank you...and now the mad rush to pack, take loads over, paint, get the kids transferred to their new school, and actually move, begins. It's snowing and cold and the holidays are pressing in. But I'm doing just fine and am blessed. Please forgive my lack of participation lately. I hope to keep posting for as long as I can, but soon there will be breaks. Still plan to finish up on December 31, though.
