Posting early, because I was unable to sleep, I liked the title so much.
This is more what I was going for with my recent snow shot that had looked good on my screen, but looked really lousy up on 365. I've been noticing that happening with my shots lately. They look fine, I upload and they are much darker or something is effected on here. Or I have an amazing photo and uploading and it's a pile o' poo;-). Ok, maybe not that drastic, but still.
Anyway, this made me smile...the title, the diamonds, the warm glow of the sun (which is really a faker and just tricking me into thinking warm lately). I still love it's light, though, warm or no.
lovely photo Amanda, I love how the middle of the shot is so clear and the sparkles are on the outer up and below of the photo. It is like an enchanted world scene. such a lovely capture to create feelings of magic in the viewer
I've heard that before.. and I can imagine why lol one day I'll have to check this out lol I love how the snow shines like little diamonds. So simple and yet so pretty.
Wise words! I think that on eof the issues with 365 is that shot scan lose resolution on upload, and the darkening affect is common. I try to counter it by lightening my shots a fraction and boosting vibrance and saturation by about 5%. Sorry to hear you are struggling to sleep. I have the opposite problem!!
God puts little diamonds into the snow to make it more bearable and beautiful! I love that you captured them! And the warm glow of the sun is very nice!

So glad you mention your uploads being darker than your original...I'm NOT going crazy! It has happened to me several times, as if the sparkle is just gone after the upload, or a darker picture (often intentional for effect) is just totally dark. I try nowadays to compensate by increasing the brightness of the darker photographs by about 10 points in PSE before saving and posting.
Rumor has it we'll be getting snow this week! Yippee! We are in desperate need of it!
