I keep wanting to catch a cardinal, our gorgeously beautiful, red state bird. I saw one at the feeder a couple days ago, but those buggers are so skittish and fast and I couldn't even get my camera in time. I shot one last week and it was so far away it looked like a fall leaf. This one is better. Bam...gotcha cardinal.
Now I could have done better and considered going out in the snow barefoot to get closer, but then thought, Nah. This is good enough. Next time I'll have shoes ready by the back door.
@loweygrace Lois, I have the same problem, you have to become a true stalker! Well done Amanda, they're not easy to capture, but they are sooo beautiful! Hadn't realised it was your state bird ... envious! ;-)
@northy The one for tomorrow? It was mostly a fail last night. I did it, but wasn't feeling it (I am either really wanting to do selfies or not and last night was a not). I may try again today and have something I like if I don't pull it off or not well enough today. thanks!

Great hide and seek! The cardinals here can hear me grabbing my camera through the window glass, so I'm betting this one would never have let you out a door anyway. Jerks!
@archaeofrog Total jerks. Once one cooperated with me and sang away as I snapped and snapped. I think it had a crush on me or something;-). Funny lady!
