Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and faves on my shot of Lucas in the windows yesterday.
When I was taking this shot, at first I was annoyed that the dude was bombing my photo, and then I realized he made the shot better. And he even sat still for the photo:).
I was busted by the art police at the museum while taking a photo of a painting that I didn't see had a notice on a sign saying no photos. I felt like a bit of a heel and an art theif, but the guard was very kind and said that it was hard to see the sign. He didn't even make me delete the photo.
We had such a great time at the museum and are very much enjoying spring break. Yesterday was ice cream sundaes for a fun snack. Tonight we are going roller skating. Hope you all are having a great week, too.
What a fantastic shot, looks great in mono and you're right the guy doesn't detract from the shot but adds something to it. Enjoy the rest of your Spring break.
You know what I love? When you sign onto this site, and the first photo that you see blows your mind. It's an unfiltered reaction. You have no expectations, just that you wanted to sign in, and BAM....the photo strikes you. How happy then, am I, that I saw this photo first. Brilliant Amanda. Incredible capture. Fav
@losthorizon Wow, Beau, thank you for your amazingly kind comments. Love those bam awesome times when you look at a shot. How cool that one of mine could be that moment for someone! Thanks again hugely, friend!
@bristolrose So appreciate your sweet comments and fav, lady!! Thank you!
Isn't it funny how they watch your every move like you are going to get one of those monster framed suckers off the wall and walk out with it. Really nice "never ending" shot.
Some photographers use flash on the artwork that can have a cumulative fading effect, and I suspect you are right about the copyright problem too. The guard adds so much to this image, and is actually the strong point that attracts my eye. Oh... I'll bet the guard would have made ME delete my photo!
Amanda, this is fantastic -- great architecture shot, but having the guard in it, like Ross @rvwalker said, warms the shot up for me. I love the repeating arches.
I agree with @losthorizon this was on the top of my home page, first photo I saw when I signed in and I'm instantly thinking "wow, love, love that shot." Fav obviously
@seanoneill I thought of you when I saw this. It reminded me of a museum shot you had. The geometry of it and all. I did like the guard in there in the end...people just add something, I think:).
@cdonohoue I almost did, but their presence everywhere dissuaded me. Thanks so much, lady! When it warms up and starts to flower, wanna meet at Spring Grove? I want to meet the swan!
As I first came upon this shot in the feed, I thought you framed it perfectly and how perfect that the man was sitting there for you! Then I read your description. The photo would be good without him, but IMO, having him there is the cherry on the sundae (since that was your yummy treat).
@smellychelli You know, my sundae was missing the cherry, so I needed to hear that. Thank you!!!
@wannabe Awesome, lady, thanks so much. I considered cropping the busts and framing up the doorway, but then thought the busts made it look more galleryish, more like it is in a museum. The crop made it lose something. So appreciate the fav and kind comments!
Rather good! You're not a true 365er until you get busted taking a shot. The line through the doorways to the guard is fantastic. There is a view like this at the National Gallery in London, and at the end is one of my favourite paintings, a painting of a horse called Whistlejacket by Stubbs.
@bristolrose So appreciate your sweet comments and fav, lady!! Thank you!
@oopsadaisy Awesome. Thanks so much!
@anazad511 Thanks, Ana:)!

@sugarmuser I know. I was so pleased he was sitting still and didn't mess up the shot!
@pixiemac I agree. Thank you!!
@flyrobin @megmills Thanks, ladies!
@darrenboyj @dmdfday Thanks so much, guys!!
@pflaume He reminds me of my husband's uncle. Thanks, Lisa. You are so kind.
@northy Thanks, Northy!!
