I think that I’ve finally decided that my favorite season is spring. It had been a tie between spring and fall, but I think that I will put all of my chips on spring now. There is just something about the fresh greens, the newness, the rebirth and renewal of life. Something about the color being added to a barren landscape and flowers popping up out of nowhere. The blossoms raining out of the tree almost like snow falling.
I’ve been walking around taking in spring with a silly grin on my face. I look out my window at the lush greens that used to be harsh naked branches and feel jubilant. I have an extra bounce in my step, a little song on my lips. A happier song. A new song. Spring brings a new beginning and new life, while fall is like an end…fall is a burst of brilliant color, but then there is a death. Fall is gorgeous in its own right, and the cold, crisp air is so welcome after summer, but spring, oh man, spring…I’ve decided that it is our wonderful gift after surviving the bone chilling winter. All things new again.
This was inspired by my friend, Danny G. @soboy5 . who recently captured dogwood blossoms so beautifully. This is my humble attempts to do something similar. Can you believe that up until last year, I had never seen dogwood before. And now they are some of my favorite things of spring.
I wish I could capture pretty backgrounds like this on a regular basis. I've tried all kinds of settings, manual and auto. It works sometimes but not always. Anyway, this is an incredibly beautiful shot and a fav!
@tinac1 Thanks so much, Tina. Really appreciate your kind words and fav. Would you mind rechecking the star, though? Happy weekend!
@cimes1 I shoot in A mode and that helps with the dof. I also edited in a vingnette which added to the dreaminess and edging. I did the same with my strawberry tree shot the other day...oh and I learned that that is a white crab apple tree:). Thank you, friend!
@riverlandphotos Thanks, lady. I am so usually NOT a flowery person, but this spring...I am feeling it. I needed them. I think that Paul helped me to appreciate flowers more, too. Wish he could have seen this. He passed away a week or so ago.:(. A friend on here.
This is a fabulous shot and I love the focusing - so delicate - 365 is the first time I have come across Dogwood and what a great shrub, very well done.
@tremerryn It's a tree. At least this one was. Thanks, man. I love it. Only just met the dogwood tree last year myself. Though I'd heard of it before. Happy weekend!
Look at all those favs!!!! Here's another one. Your focus, depth, and positioning created a gorgeous image out of an already gorgeous plant. BTW, spring is "mud season" here, and not nearly as pretty as this.
This is so beautiful! I love the depth of field. I'm new to 365 and I have been spending most of my time working on shallow depth of field because it is one of my favorite techniques. This photo is truly an inspiration to me. I enjoyed reading your story about the photo and about spring as well!
Wow, guys...and to think I used to shy away from shooting flowers. Sooo overwhelmed and grateful by your wonderful words, faves and compliments. Still walking around with a silly grin on my face:). thank you and humbled by you.
@lucypics Thanks, Lucy. It sure was a purty tree and it sat so still for me. I think I had the dog on the leash though and the kids in the stroller who were not so still.
@cimes1 Thanks so much, Carole. I was so happy to be there. Couldn't believe I was 5!
Thank you all so much. Spring was well earned and so very gorgeous this year. I was super pleased to capture this. Dogwood blooms are still pretty new to me and I adore them. Happy weekend!
Sorry Amanda, I am still trying to get use to the new format of the site at times. I thought this was someone else's. I love the softness of this image against the grey background and out of focus dogwood flowers! +F

@dmward You are sweet. Thank yoU!
@gozoinklings I love the richer colors. The other was more innocent and sweet. This has a bit more passion. Thank you so much!
@june Sheesh, that would be cool. Thanks so much, June!!
Congrats

Thanks so very much, pretty ladies:). Spring is grand!
@summerfield I hadn't seen this color before either. Usually peachy pink or white. This was close to red.

@anjoso Appreciate that, Andy. It'd been awhile. Glad to have captured this. And to think, i've shied away from shooting flowers!
Congrats on the TT
