I went out to take a shot of these blooms in my front yard about to burst and noticed the ants crawling all over them. I waited for the right moment and fired.
I don't remember the name of these flowers, but I seem to remember being told that the ants help open the blooms? This guy seemed to be quite busy while I took some photos. Keep up the good work, ants in my plants.
I love. Ants in this plant...not in my pants...I sat in an ant pile once...lol..the focus on the Peony is awesome! They smell sooooo good! Beautiful shot!
@barbarajdonnellan@nanderson Yes, that is it. I had forgotten. They are a newer flower to me. Thanks, ladies. I remember a poor girl getting ants in her pants in elementary school. Fire ants. She had to take her pants off. So embarrassing. Poor, poor kid!!!
its time to get President-Bush all over their asses. US Marine style. Because the aphids damage the plant. But in my climate aphids aren't a problem with Peonies I think.
@chewyteeth You know I noticed all these little golden eggs on one of the peonies. Would Obama suffice to call? He probably wouldn't do anything, though;-).
Peony ant - I didn't know they helped open the bloom?!? You caught her in a nice place though - my peony shot ant is below & almost can't be seen. Turned out great - fav!
We don't have ants down here - on our flowers or in our pants! When we lived up north we did! But then we didn't have peonies up there and we do down here. I haven't got any white ones though, they must be so beautiful!
Also love the clarity of the little ant, even tho he's clearly up to no good.
