The crack addiction of our neighborhood squirrel thugs helps explains why they are so itchy faced. Flea bitten varmints!
But they are still pretty cute. Look at that fluffy tail...I just want to reach out and pet it. My kiddos got to last summer at the zoo...a squirrel was in the picnic area and other kids were petting it and by kids did, too. I was a little worried that it would bite, but it was sweet and must be pretty tame and used to kids.
Speaking of the zoo, tonight Emily and I are going to be howling at the moon with the wolves at the zoo. We are spending the night there and hopefully seeing some cool behind the scenes zoo stuff with her Girl Scout troop. It said that only one camera per group is permitted. But I am hoping to sneak mine in in my big bag... "What? It's a Nikon brand purse.:)" Eeek, it would kill me to miss out on cool zoo shots! And how cool to be there at a quiet time and in a small group. Maybe we will see some animals eating. Wonder if I will get any sleep tonight?
Day 2 of summer break was slightly smoother for me (though my kids were crying for parts of the day and one said it was the worst day ever). When Mike came home last night at dinner time, I was drinking a beer. I think the kids were upstairs crying because they had been sent to their rooms yet again. "One of those days, huh?" he said when he saw my beer. "Yup, one of those days..."
Happy weekend. May you not have one of those days:).
Fav! You certainly nailed the composition on this one. He's got such a beautiful fluffy tail! Have fun at the zoo.... uh, what's this about Gators up there ...LOL! GO DAWGS
@cimes1 Go Dawgs indeed and Roll Tide and...so many fun SEC and ACC teams. Me, I'm a Nole:). Loved going to a good football school and made it to almost every home game in my 4 years there. Thank you, my friend!
@amandal I hear ya. Hannah is 2 hours away from her home so she still has the space, but it's a lot closer when she or my daughter/son-in-law want to visit.
@ladygator You are so right, Nancy. Used to love going to those UGA-FL games in JAX......lots of fun spirit, and can't beat that world's largest outdoor cocktail party. We also used to go to the best place for country breakfast up there--can't recall the name but think I have the menu saved somewhere around here.
What a fabulous picture and I'm sure he loves to be not hangin from the feeder. Hope you have a wonderful night at the zoo. It's not a battle it's a journey and before you know it you just might be wishing for "one of those days".
That sounds awesome about the zoo. I would totally sneak my camera in too!
I can totally relate to the rough days driving me to drink! ;-)
Cool shot! He does look super fluffy and soft!
@ladygator They are cute. Are you a FL Gator? I went to FSU:)!!!
Your squirrel is getting easy handouts.
@thresheg Thanks so much, Graham!!
@cdonohoue The itchy face crackhead song? I'm singing it, too. I should link it:).
@ladygator Cool, Jax is nice. I was a gator in my heart til I got a full ride to FSU.
@pittcj17 Thanks, Cindy!!!
@cimes1 The FL-GA rivalry wouldn't be much fun if you felt otherwise! Don't worry, the feeling's mutual :)
@jesperani It's black, boxy and oh so fashionable;-). Thanks.
@june Than you, June. How is your month going?
@carolmw Thanks, Carol!
@gazbadger Thanks, my friend!!
