I love raw emotion and how it makes us human. Different from the animals. We weep, we smile, we giggle, we dance...we are beautifully emotional beings.
I've had capturing raw human emotion on my list of goals. But it is so hard to do, to time. It's a candid thing and how often are you in the right place at the right time to catch it?
For the record, I am not a terrible mama taking a shot of my little one in tears. These are ridiculous tears, crocodile tears over a silly thing (Emily using her stuffed animal for a pillow). It's amazing how quickly and how intense the tears can come, can be. Silly, silly tears.

@summerfield Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. It's so very sad when they are upset like this, but less so when it's over silliness. That allowed me to take a photo with a clear conscience. She gets tired these days after school and cries easily. And as soon as she got the animal back the tears dried up fast.
Aww bless her, even though it was crocodile tears! I agree that the song is an amazing one but it's difficult for me to listen to after a school friend chose it for her funeral over 12 years ago now. She was an amazing person and I remember her apologising for choosing it because she knew it would have us all in tears! One of our mutual friends who lives close to where she is buried has visited her grave several times over the years and on three of the occasions this song has come on the radio as she has pulled into the graveyard. Another time all the school friends were out having dinner and we were toasting our absent friend when it came on the sound system at the restaurant. A coincidence? Maybe?
@paulaw What a sad story. And maybe a sweet reminder of her...it's like she visits you all through it from time to time. How crazy, yet cool that it plays at appropriate times for you. Hugs to you as you remember your sad loss today.

Fav! I love the emotion you captured. It is funny bc I have taken photos of the boys like this and you do feel like people will judge you as being rotten.
@egad Thanks so much for relating and for the fav. Once my son wouldn't nap when he was a baby and screamed in his crib for a looooong time. When I finally went to get him, he was a mess of snot and tears. Such a red face. I HAD to have a photo of that. Sick, I know, but you want to remember things.

You know it's refreshing to see a picture that shows the other side .. most pictures we take are full of smiles - I love this - even if they weren't crocodile tears :)
