This week, we are doing the history of the camera and photography at Mad Hatters. Here is a recent selfie done in the daguerreotype style. This was a taken at the same time as my Rear Window series and I've sat on it for a couple of weeks. It was the one that Michael liked the best of the bunch. And then when I put it up on Facebook it got some rave reviews including a couple of "I think this is one of your best selfies ever." So who am I to keep that from you all;-)?
I've always loved the dreamy actresses in old movies, their classic, classy style. This is my nod to them.
@paulaw@nanderson You ladies are wonderful. Thank you for your kindness this morning. Off to make breakfast, trying to look dreamy;-). Yeah, I am NOT in a dress today.
Oh yes, a great selfie as well great for the theme! Sepia works so well for this. This gives me inspiration - I might get my scary doll out of the basement and join the theme.
@kerristephens Reminds me of some of yours:). Thanks, Kerri!! You need to do selfies again. You are a gorgeous model!
@susale Creepy doll...eek. I don't look like one, do I? Recently the neighbor kid took my kids down to her basement to show them her Chucky doll collection. Needless to say, my kids can't go inside there anymore...nightmares!
@amandal Oh of course you don´t look like a creepy doll but I have nothing that looks old, at least I think i don´t....anyway my doll doesn´t have to be scary....nah she is :D But I can try to shoot her as a old doll. And I totally get it and shame on them to give your children nightmares, I of course would love to get the chance to shoot those Chucky dolls, but I´m weird that way :D
you are lucky to have such a beautiful backdrop for your photographic pleasures. what i like here is that even though it is in monotone, you as the subject still stand out and not lost against the beautiful background. i just wish there's more room above so your head wasn't cropped. thank goodness reason ruled and you got this out here for us to see. it is a splendid self portrait, kiddo.
Perfect in every way (both image and subject)! You have inspired me to think about a selfie since I've never put one up on 365. I said "think about" as I don't want to scare anyone away ;-)

@summerfield The processing cropped it in more than I would have liked. Darn edit;-). Thanks, my friend.
@bill_fe Aw, shucks...thanks! Love my backyard! The woods ROCK!!
