I found these autumn leaves stuck on the edge of a waterfall the other day. They were positioned so that they could break through and go over the edge and plunge to their doom at any moment.
How much of a parallel for life is that? Get ready to reach up or out for help if you find yourself taking that dangerous plunge. Needing help is not a sign of weakness, it actually shows your strength in your ability to humble yourself.
Hope that you have a happy and safe weekend. Thanks for all of your wonderful comments and support this week.
@soboy5 Thanks, Danny...and thanks again for sharing your beach with us this week...for fulfilling my request. The beach is what I most miss living landlocked now. But then embracing the beauty that I have here. Happy weekend!
Wonderful capture and very true words. This week a friend of childhood took her life, and it has kept me thinking what demons made her take such a drastic decision instead of looking for help.
@anazad511 You know I think you hit the nail on the head with the mention of demons. I think that those are the voices that we hear that discourage us and make us feel hopeless, worthless, etc. So sorry about your friend...that is truly sad and such a waste. Wish she had gotten help.
@kwind Not while I was there. They were pretty stuck. I have to show another pov of the falls soon. Wish I had thought to get the leaves in that shot, though...these ones specifically. Thanks, my friend!
@cdonohoue This was at Sharon Woods on the waterfall looking toward the bridge. I balanced on the rocks and hoped not to slip. And yes we are. Thanks, lady!!
@summerfield I had, but didn't like it. My grandpa used to always send it to us from NH when I was a kid. Now that I have a big girl palette, I like it:). I even drank a real beer the other day cause my fruitier version was out. It wasn't half bad. Love not being picky anymore.
@summerfield Nova Scotia in '93. My aunt and uncle live there. It was nice, eh. We were there in April and I was coming from FL and was astounded that there was snow on the ground. That was when I first heard of the group Barenaked Ladies and fell in love with their music (but was shocked at the name).
must come to toronto one of these days. if you do and i'm still alive, we'll drive you around ontario, up north is quite beautiful. and when i win the lottery, you coming with me to the islands in the old country. bring the family! it's a threat! :-) @amandal
@summerfield Oooh, sounds great. Islands especially. Is that where you grew up? Not in Canada, but Philippines yes? My brother in law is half Filipino and has family there still.
@amandal - i grew up in manila but during the last 3 visits, i liked being in the islands. nice if you don't have to work. i want to retire there but partner doesn't want to even go and visit.
@summerfield I should work, we are broke, but it is tough with kiddos. It works for me not to work, but is a struggle and in regards would be easier if I did. A side something would be great.
We all are in that stage at some point or other.
