Secondly, Bill Fenske ( @bill_fe )is one of my better friends on 365. Heck, we were in a sewer tart club together for awhile there. He is a part of the 365 toy group and his toy that he uses each week is called Cubebot.
Well last week, when I traveled for business one of the exhibitors at our show was giving out Cubebots. Just like Bills. My wheels started turning as I asked for one. I actually came home with 4. One for me and one for each kid. I think the guy in the booth had a crush on me...he kept giving me stuff. It's a wonder my luggage wasn't too heavy with all the bots.
Anyway, this week I spent an afternoon making the ransom note with old papers and finally got around to the shot today.
No fear, Bill. I really don't have your Cubebot, don't need a ransom and my toy was not harmed in the shooting of this photo. Too bad it doesn't fit the Nutella theme:). Just bought some of that yesterday.
And to make a long story even longer, this actually has nothing to do with the shot, but...today I took my car into the shot for the repair we had diagnosed a couple weeks back. The same man as last time shuttled me home. A very sweet older gentleman. Well today he was telling me that he and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary is coming up and told me about the party planning. He reminded me of my grandpa. Afterwards, I was kicking myself for not asking him the secret to a happy 50 years of marriage. And I thought that I'd love to do a portrait shoot for free of he and his lovely wife. So I emailed the dealership and got his info and contacted him. He will let me know about the photo shoot, but the secret to 50 years of happiness is this, these two words: "Yes, dear!"
@bill_fe So here you go. The shot for you that I mentioned yesterday. My mind has been working it out for a week or so and I finally pulled it off. Hee hee. Funny, yes?
so did you tell michael (your husband, not jackson) about the two words?
and billy (fenske, not jean) thought that cubebot drowning in a jar of nutella was bad! hahahahahaha! what a "thriller"! how much are you asking for that? (the ransom - a big jar of peanut butter?) more bahahahaha!
@summerfield You are so bad, telling CB to dive for a prize in a jar of Nutella. @amandal Does a fav tell you if I approve? Hahahahaha Super huge laugh
Haha, oh what a lovely story! And how sweet of you to do that for them, brings a tear to my eye, if only everyone was half as kind Amanda.
Love the shot of course, we can rely on you to come up with something like this.
@judithg Well I majored in communication and think I have this theme in the bag. A ransom note is such a great means of communicating, right? So persuasive:).
Hahahhaa--you look so "evil" in that hat--that it makes me laugh. (I had forgotten about you and Bill and sewer tarts--hilarious times!) This is a great, creative photo, Amanda!
Yep, crazy is about right! Having made mistakes in the past and finally got it right, I could tell you the secret of 46 years of marriage ... you would need to hang around for the full 50! In truth though you can't learn from anyone else's experience, only your own (if you were paying attention!)
Fab shot ~ great idea ~ love it!

oh, stop the jacko songs already! :-D

Crazy beyond clever! Have fun with the photo shoot. What a special gift.
Cubebot is smiling so you must be treating him well.
