This sniffer is good. My lens passed the sniff test.
And so did our Easter candy. Last night, Mike and I forgot/didn't think about it and left the candy baskets on the counter and Hope in the house with easy access.
This morning we have one kid with hardly any candy left and one sick dog. She ate a whole chocolate bunny, a "carrot" filled with reese's pieces, and a package of marshmellow peeps (if not another egg or two that I don't know of). Hope is normally insatiably hungry for breakfast in the morning and just laying there with a big sick belly.
I feel bad for her today. She's gotta feel just awful. Maybe this will curb her eating ways?
What's left of the Easter candy is up high now. Hope she lives to see another day! Darn dog.
You do realize that chocolate is toxic to a dog, don't you? Might want to get a call in to the vet to let them know the amount ingested and let them figure out the extent of toxicity.
I agree with Barbara (above). You may want to take her to the vet. Chocolate and sweets can be toxic to dogs. What a fun cute capture of that "sniffer" .... :-)
Oh no — poor pooch, getting into the chocolate and giving herself a tummy ache. Do hope she'll be alright as I've seen some dogs get dangerously ill from chocolate consumption. Darling picture of her nose.
Great dof but watch your dog carefully - chocolate is very toxic for dogs. Except mine who ate both of the boy's easter baskets one year - candy, chocolate, wrappers and baskets. He seems immune.
@soboy5 My dog is insane. This past Christmas she ate 20 or so of our ornaments. Drives me nuts Maybe the sickness that ensued today will teach her a lesson!
Waddles is exactly the same!!! You don't dare leave anything edible anywhere near her, she will even try to sneak up and get it while you're sitting there!!! Love the wet nose!!! Hope, Hope feels better soon!! I was always told chocolate was poison to dogs, pfffft!!! If so, Waddles would have been dead 100 times over!!! She doesn't even get sick!!! Give Hope a hug and a kiss on that wet nose from me and tell her to behave!!! LOL LOL Right? FAV!
Just gotta FAV this one.....that wet nose in such sharp focus, those sad blurry eyes, that sick puppy.... :-((( I hope she has already recovered from this feast.....that's a lot of chocolate for a dog!
I wanted to add to my other comment but in a more private way. One of our sons did not grow! We had to give him shots of growth hormone ($100 each, every day) for him to do so. This lasted 10 years. The after effect when he was grown was severe suicidal depression. He is doing better, but I always live with a sense of dread. My granddaughter (Laurie's middle child) may go blind. She is on an experimental treatment. If it won't work, puberty will cause the blindness. She is beginning puberty now, so we're all hoping it will work. She absolutely loves visual beauty, more than any of the other grandchildren. One reason she is so heavy is that she can't play sports like other children do. She can't see where she is going or a ball coming toward her. I tell you this to emphasize with you and to encourage you that you all will find your way, but it is indeed hard.
@cejaanderson Thanks for your words. Wow, that is some seriously bad results to gluten. I've heard it can be awful. Praying for your son and granddaughter!
@cejaanderson Oh ok...good to know. I realize that I am so blessed that this is the worst I have to deal with. Pretty blessed by good health for the family! So what if we have to work a little harder and perhaps eat healthier. I can't imagine how hard it was going through the growth hormone (for both you and him) and how hard your poor sweet granddaughter has it.

beautiful nose though - wish my girl would keep still long enough for a nose shot
