I've spent the past two days home with my son, Lucas. He was sent home from school yesterday morning after having gotten sick in the hall. And then he was fine all day long but got a fever in the evening so I had to keep him home again. Stinker;-).
It's actually been really nice spending time with him. We've played lots of cards and chess and had a couple movie dates. He's a fun kid. And what a chess shark. This kid beat me even with the flu.
The mention of sharks reminds me about a funny thing about Lucas. When he was in Kindergarten, every week he would check out shark books from the school library. Every week without fail. I learned so much about sharks I am practically an expert. Ask me anything;-)!
Today he and I saved a dog from the middle of our road. It's been a sweet time. Me and my son.
And to think last week he drove me so crazy, that I punished him for 6 months. Yeah, he made me a bit crazy.
Awww how nice to have that one on one time. I'm sure that's the difference between driving your crazy or enjoying your time together! I have two of my three kids home sick as well. Something about starting school and catching germs there!! I like your photo, lovely focus. He looks like he's saying "hurry up mum"!!
Wonderful capture. Fav. Sorry to hear your Luke is sick. Always happens at the beginning of the school year doesn't it? All those kids mingling, sharing germs. LOL. Hope he feels better. Love the story about the dog. Awesome.
Such intensity in those eyes! Love the way you composed this pic with the focus on the chess pieces but the sick kid dominating the background details.
This photo plays tricks with the eyes!! Sometimes it looks like the chess pieces are floating!!! Love chess, but stink at it!! Love Lucas's intense "shark" stare!!! FAV!
I really love this. You are so good at capturing the moment.
Your kids are going to have such a wonderful album of photos to look back on when they are grown.
It's a great gift that you're giving to your family.

Do hope he's feeling better. Happy you spent good time together.
