This reminds me of dating Michael for our first 4 years long distance. We'd meet up occasionally on weekends halfway and the departures were so bittersweet. I'd watch him in my rearview mirror through tears headed in the opposite direction on the highway. Ha...come to think of it now, he even came to visit me via bus once.
So grateful we survived the distance. Going on 21 years together and 15 years married. I'll say we more than survived.
