This is a red glass heart Michael and I got from some great friends' wedding 14 years ago. We pass it back and forth to each other to be romantic. Somehow we've managed to keep track of it that long and through 4 moves (2 of them major cross country ones).
I thought it would make a good photo or series for Valentine's day and took it outside to capture the golden hour setting sun behind it.
And crazily enough, I dropped the darn thing on the sidewalk while outside and chipped the side and scratched it. Poor glass heart, it's fragile. I was careless. Should have been on the grass.
And these are my poor, wrecked winter hands. They look like those of an elephant woman. I even applied hand lotion before the shot.
Anyway, happy week leading up to Valentine's day! It's a special holiday for Mike and I. We exchanged our first I love you 21 years ago and then got engaged on that day 16 years ago.
beautiful heart and ritual you two have passing it back and forth. SO sweet. and oh you are too funny. i feel the same about my hands. i don't do salon nails like the rest of the world, because they don't feel like MY hands, but it leaves me feeling very humble about them. precious capture of the special moment between you too.
