These blue morpho butterflies have always been my favorites at the butterfly show. But I had never been able to see their color but for when they were flying. Usually when resting, the close their wings.
And this last time, one was resting open winged and glorious, all blue and pretty. And then a kid jumped in front of it and was poking at it trying to catch it. I found myself saying outloud, "Oh honey, I want a photo of that!" And in my mind, "Move the heck out of the way, kid!!"
Trouble was I had just swapped lenses and it was fogged.
Got one snap, it was bad, but this is an example of how an edit can salvage a shot. Going all ETSOOI on you, too, for fun:).
I really like the blue ones too. I think it's because they are not very prominent in the butterfly world. I love that you edited your comments to the child that got in front of you. I might not have been as gracious. A beautiful shot here and editing is just perfect for it.
Oh I know this type of butterfly. When I went to the butterfly house I was desperate to get a shot of the blue but like you say they don't tend to show it when they're resting. I would have been just the same as you with the kid too ;) xx
Beautiful capture and I know excactky what you mean. I had doves in my front yard and asked the kids not to move, while I got some shots. The kids were awesome, as is this shot!
