When you look in the mirror
Do you like what you see?
When you look inside of you?
What do you find there?
I'm fairly comfortable in my own skin. This was not always the case, but I grew into myself. Thankful for this.
But now I am in this weird place between old and young, not quite either.
Wish the change wasn't gradual. Wish we just woke up one morning in our 80s or 90s and were old.
This was taken in one of the ponds around Spring Grove Cemetery yesterday. LOVE seeing the swans there. I had a super time exploring with my friend and capturing the flavor of the place in spring.
Beautiful words, beautiful shot. I am in a same Place too and I´d wish By this age I´d like myself but noooo, not a chance, there´s always something I´d change, sigh
You are still young, Amanda! And beautiful. We are as young as we feel. I still feel around 30 - the best age. Old enough to know a bit about life and young enough to be able to make the most of it. However, after 50, changes happen to your body, not all of them to your liking, but all part of the process. I am quite at ease with that ... I just live for each day. Don't wish your life away. I will feel very lucky if I get to be 80 or 90 and still be able to enjoy life. But what a lovely reflection provoked by the swan's reflection! :-)
@taffy I was getting lots of strange views on my account and wasn't comfortable with it. Just wanted to be less recognizable and searchable. Could have been nothing, but was creeping me out.
Lol! Nice capture and title...
God! I'm pry die I'd die of fright if I wrote up and was 80! You're only as old as u make up your mind to be! All the most recent guys I've dated think I'm ten years younger. Nobody has ever questioned it! Lol!
I can assure you you would not want to wake up one morning and be old. God has a plan for all of us and aging slowly is part of it. It makes it easier to accept the inevitable. Besides as others have said part of being old is your state of mind.
This is a terrific shot to accompany your reflective narrative.
I agree with Tabitha.
I don't know exactly how you feel because in my head I am definitely not 35 years old.
Do what makes you happy, be grateful, be kind, show love and CARPE DIEM!
And don't let the other stuff grind you down :)
doesn't matter what age you are to feel young...it's a soul thing...feeling a tad reflective atm?...perhaps due to your little one's recent birthday...i know i am not my age regardless of what the mirror says...part of me is still 28 and another part is edging 90...lol... :o)
Thanks, guys. I am thinking about age more as I am about to turn 40 in two months. I am really ok with it. Just an age and I am aging well, in a good place in life, etc. Just not super fond of the aging process and the double standards between men and women. This year, I'm noticing my age more. Like it's really starting now. I keep fit, active and have been blessed with really good genes so that helps.
Nice commentary with the photo combination. Love the swans too; They are such an iconic image aren't they? And, me too. This last year, I noticed the most change I ever have in my physical self; I'm a skinny girl, but losing muscle tone and collagen....well, not fun. I started Camp Gladiator last week; it helps, but I also now need to take 40 vitamins and what not. So,....I feel your feels :-)
@alophoto ...only turning 40...is that all! ...your forty's are the BEST!!!...you will totally love them...trust me... :o)... (been there, done that, got the t-shirt...yay!)
