The Storybook Fawns

Once upon a time, there was a lady who dreamed of getting a good photo of deer in the woods.

She saw deer often, but at unpredictable times and rarely with a camera handy.

The other evening, while out for a photo walk (with the dog unfortunately), the dog growled and alerted her to the deer in the woods. There were at least 3 and they seemed young.

Wouldn't you know she had the wrong lens on?! Also they were so obscured by the underbrush. And then her camera was on the wrong setting.

Poor poor lady. When will she get her break?!

Even despite the challenges, I rather like this photo, because it shares a beautiful precious moment that I got to share with these sweet creatures.

Happy Friday and have a superb weekend!

I am off today and grinning like a fool:) and tonight we are watching Wonder Woman and having White Castle (the latter I am NOT excited about, but I was overruled). And today, I'm going running, doing yoga and weights, going out to lunch with my Dad and maybe for a quick fall hike. Who knows.
Cool capture - surreal feeling, like a dream. Sounds like your Friday is going to be great - enjoy!

Quite nice -- like an impressionist painting. Have a great day today -- sounds like nothing but good options (except maybe the white castle...)

I like the colours and atmosphere in this - need the story too to go with it! Sometimes I like my bridge camera for this reason - never have to change lens!

They may look sweet, but they treat our garden as their personal salad bar and that's not-so-endearing. I rather like this shot, too..

The curse of the interchangeable lens. Invariable the wrong one on the camera. I share your disappointment but do like the result

I thought this was the beginning of a Red Riding Hood story, until I read your story :)
