The Empty Nest by alophoto

The Empty Nest

And so my little story ends. The babies left one day without so much as a goodbye.

Yesterday's photo was the last I took of them.

I left them alone the next day, checked in the following and they were gone.

It seemed so quick, too fast? How could they fly so soon?

Maybe they will come back for a visit? I wouldn't even mind if they brought their laundry for me to do.

Seeing the abandoned nest was really sad for me. I wonder how I will do it when my own children leave home to venture out into the world on their own. Sigh.

Happy July 1!
I can't believe they are gone already. 😕

Oh Amanda don’t worry, when your children leave they will bring back all their laundry, trust me! 😊

Lovely to have your series of the different stages.....as long as they have flown I'm sure they will be fine.

What a fitting photo to end your serie! It is sad to see this in a way. Perhaps they are just gone momentarily and will come back for a few days until they are permanently ready to leave?

Flying is the easy bit, feeding themselves takes longer. They could be out and about learning how to do it.. part being fed, part trying it out. They could still be using the nest for shelter
