Jury service once again consisted of turning up at 10:30am then sitting drinking coffee and reading until 2:30pm when we were released and told to come back tomorrow. Have to say, am starting to enjoy these lazy, short days and might struggle when it's back to 9-5 next week...
And so with some time on my hands, I drove down to Tilbury Fort to take some photos. I took some, but nothing that pleased me so when I drove past this single track pontoon down to the car ferry, I had to pull over to grab a photo.
I used Lightroom for the first time on this photo. Not sure how I will get along with it, but will give it a good workout during my month's free trial. Will have to do some RAW shooting at some point to appreciate the benefits I understand. All I can say so far though is.... It's slowed my laptop down no end!!
Great pic Andy! Lightroom is great for RAW processing, but you do need a fairly powerful PC. I downloaded the trial to my work laptop and it was so slow! I use the full version at home on a PC that's only a few months old, and even that slows down now and then.
Great shot for the theme! Love the warm colors, too.
BTW- that is definitely the kind of jury duty I would like. How many days do you have to show up? Here in Chicago, you only have to go for one day...and if you're not called for any reason...you're done for another year or two.
@Swazzette Thanks... Over here jury service lasts 2 weeks - in that time, you might get 1, 2, 10 or no cases... depends on the luck of the draw... And you arfe rarely called a 2nd time..
great lines Andy. You will have fun shooting in raw, that is pretty much all I ever do now, The only down side is if you have taken a bunch of photos it takes awhile to process but it is well worth it!
saw this on the POP page. I just love the way the shdows add to the lines. The colors are fantastic. I am sorry I just now found your page. Your work is beautiful!! Sorry to see you are almost done.
