I was up the West End today to attend a conference - keynote speaker was Ken Livingstone who, whether you agree with his politics or not, does deliver a good speach.
The conference finished about 4:30 so I took a long walk through central London, before ending my journey at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster.
Had a quick scout around and found the most suitable tripod substitute I could find - this time an angled wall and spent about 20 minutes taking long exposure shots.
Because the wall was angled, I had to hold the camera as steady as I could - what annoyed me was so many times my hand would give a slight twitch just at the last moment meaning the shot was ruined.
My make-shift tripod wasn't quite far enough away to get all the traffic in which is a bit of a shame.
The line of light in the sky is a plane passing through...
Love the perspective and colours in this shot - actually thanks to the make-shift tripod, the car lights made just the right angle at the bottom of the shot! If you had a real tripod the perspective may have been different! I like it :)
Loving it. Took a look at the others also and I'm a fan of the one with the girl in front of the sushi store and the one that looks like one giant double decker bus. Great night shots.
At least your shot isn't grainy :) I do see a bit of blur but for a 10 sec exposure without a tripod it's amazingly sharp. I love the see-through train.
LOL. My first thought was 'is it warm enough to be running around with no clothes?' I like your shot, and your last second wobble is not visible. The 'plane in the sky certainly adds to the shot.
