You say Bagel / I say Beigel by andycoleborn

You say Bagel / I say Beigel

This is the more famous of the two beigel shops in London's Brick Lane, and like the sign says, it really is open 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. This shop NEVER shuts.. Add to that, it does a bloody great salt beef bagel (ok, ok... I say bagel!!)...

I believe beigel is Yiddish whilst bagel is American and as this area was once the main Jewish area in the UK, it fits...

This wasn't the greatest of street shots so I messed about in picnik to make it a bit more interesting than the original... other than that, I quite like the action in the shot - the guy cleaning the windows, the lady walking by and the hairy dosser sat having a coffee... I tried b&w but I think you need to see the sign in colour here..

I'm doing some part time work as a census collector and met up with the coordinator today to pick up my workload... Easy work but looks like I'm going to be busy over the next month so there may be a drop in quality of photos due to lack of time...

By the way.. glorious, glorious sunny weather in London these last few days... Was pushing 20 degrees at 8:30pm..!!!!! Loving it....
good action indeed with the worker, the walker, the drinker and the flower pot..

Yeah like the action, but need a mark out of ten for that salt beef bagel!

@rich57 If/when your next down on a Sunday, it's really worth checking out the 3 markets here (columbia road flower market and petticoat lane and brick lane markets) with a stop off here... a great way to spend a few hours

salt beef bagel? Is the beef on the bagel or is it in the bagel? either way sounds interesting

Love all the zingy bits of colour - quite a lot of interesting stuff going on here with the passer-by, window cleaner and bench chap.

Fun shot, the processing is interesting. I like it, almost looks like a painting.

Beef and schmear on a bagel with a coffee is my daily breakfast, no matter what time of the day I'm getting up. After the recent floods we had a bagel drought here...it was Hell, I had to use normal toast.
