Always wondered why the Shard was 1) built so high and 2) built in Southwark and away from other skyscrappers in London... Now I know...It's our modern attempt to build a structure to the heavens.. or failing that, the architects knew the spring sun would set directly over it when viewed from Limehouse...
Had the train journeys from hell today... on the DLR at lunch a suited and booted Mr Inconsiderate-Fat-Bastard decided to sit ON me when there was plenty of empty seats available... After asking him twice did he want me to move so he could spread out further (which he ignored), I got up calling him an inconsiderate bastard..... His reply.. "Charming"... So very British LOL...
And on the train home... A super sneaky silent farter...!!! Lovely..!!!

OMG...the train stories are cracking me up! So funny....after the fact...fart...I mean, fact. This is amazing how the light on the water's shape is the same as the building's shape and wow. that sun does line up! Reminds me of that scene in Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom when they put that medallion on the staff and the sun come through and lights up the place on the map that hides the treasure!
