James got confirmed tonight. It was a lovely occasion and all the family were there. This is not really the best photo in the church but it is the nearest you're probably going to get to a selfie this year. Neil and I sing in a barber shop quartet with James' Guardians and we sang "An Irish Blessing" at the service. We are in the back right corner, mostly hidden by the candelabra, and I am in grey- the other 3 stepped forward from the choir.
I'm still claiming it as my photo as the camera might have been on a tripod on the balcony but the wireless remote controller was in my left hand!
It was indeed tricky lighting but I'm delighted to have got anything at all and sometimes a photo existing in your project means more than the actual quality of the shot, doesn't it?!
I agree with you absolutely, and there are no rules except your own, so this works perfectly. It must have been a very proud and emotional moment for the family.....
@jackie8 James was on an organ stool in his moses basket at choir practice 6 days after he was born and has been in the church choir in his own right since he was 8 but he still took me by suprise when he said he wanted to be confirmed! The reason for the title of this photo is that they were James' words when he was describing to me why he felt so strongly about this. As you say, beautiful moments...
