Better days

This has certainly seen 'em...but also it was indeed a better day for me as I managed to sneak out from lunch at work and meet Neil for a bite to eat. This windowsill really appealed to me for some reason- not representative of the rest of the lovely English pub where we ate, I assure you!
Love this. I bet the rest of the pub has just as much character. If it was painted shiny and new it wouldn't have the character and age it shows now.

Great detail.

Lovely shot! Where would us photographers be if all paintwork was pristine and new and metal didn't rust?

Just look at that texture. A photographer's playground. Great shot Angela.

Looks life a life well lived (as a window sill) and hints at untold stories, in a way that a pristine freshly painted one never could.
Hope you enjoyed your surreptitious lunch outing.

Like it :)

I can see why, the grain in that wood showing through the peeling paint layers has so much texture and depth. I agree with Tim!

@onewing You're right- it's a place called "The Wizard" after a local legend and it's full of character!
