CONGRATS. We did that too this year here in the US because we are anticipating another big hit to the stock market. Lots of people are telling me it's coming, especially people involved in taxes and housing so we decided to invest in the hard asset of our house and hold off on retirement. The financial whiz people will tell you that's stupid, but we own our home free and clear and as long as we can pay the property tax at least that won't be taken from us. Now healthcare, that's a totally different story...
congratulations. Isn't it a wonderful feeling. I can still remember the day when I went into our bank to pay off the final $14,000 on our mortgage in one go.
