I spent a really happy day with my friend Sallie at Biddulph Grange Gardens outside Congleton. We spent a lot of time photographing the damsel flies but after lots of shots.......lots........ this was one of the better ones and was about the third I took all day. Is that supposed to tell me something?
Not an easy shot as they are so tricky to focus on and your Exif tells me you were at full stretch, so well done. I just dont like going above 400 ISO if I can help it as the noise is horrid, unless the background is bright and busy, then you can see it less, but its a problem for us in the UK with its usual dull weather!
Lovely try and there is just a suggestion of iridescence on the wings. Next time you will capture perfection. The subject is well worth a second attempt.
@jo13 I've only had the 7D about 3 weeks and I'm still trying to learn the differences from the 40D. It's also a case of getting it set up to my preferences.
@angelar Know what you mean, I literally picked it up from the hire shop and went straight out, I found it difficult to move through all the options quickly, which was frustrating, especially as I shoot in manual and had to keep changing things to suit the light!
