This moth landed on the outside of our lounge window, presumably attracted by our evening lights. I don't think I've ever seen the underside of a moth, particularly in this detail.
Wow! Those eyes creeped me out a treat! Nice shot.

Nice shot. They eyes are very creepy though. We see the underside of Bogong moths on our kitchen window at night sometimes and they are really creepy.

This is, of course, Ourapteryx sambucaria, or a Swallow tailed Moth and is even more beautiful right way up. Very typical , as you discovered, it is attracted by evening lights.
