I'm about to have a rant! Our sixth form spent all their free time today decorating Christmas stalls for our school fair and they have to use their house colour. St Joan's house have red which is, of course, very easy to use for the Christmas theme but what did they do?... a whole stall with a coca-cola theme! In addition these 17 year olds tell me that Christmas can really start for them once the coca-cola tv advert is shown of the lorry and the song "the holidays are coming". Holidays?! It's Christmas- a religious festival- not a chance for coca-cola to assert its supremacy. I know the company are credited with inspiring the red Santa outfit but surely they shouldn't be allowed to take over any more of Christmas?
Aw, come on, Miss. They're only young once. Plenty of time to explore the true nature of Christmas with its significance when they have young 'uns of their own to keep on the straight and narrow. I hate Coca-Cola by the way. Even when I was young.
