I spotted these sunk boats on Windermere and thought they were just full of rain but the boat keeper came out when he saw me taking photos and enlightened me- he takes the boats out of the water for the stormy winter months and the timbers dry out which makes the timber joints come loosen. At the start of the season, he sinks his boats so the timbers swell and the joints come tightly together again.
Well that’s interesting, I never knew this!

I have pictures of these boats at Windermere but not like this. A great find.
