I went to the woods to pick bilberries or blueberries for a pie and saw this Cabbage Butterfly and some smaller butterflies as well. Bilberries looked ripe but they were rather hard to get off the plant. Is it because of the hot and dry summer? It is funny that these berries are called blue in the languages I know but black in Finnish. (Musta = black, mustikka = blueberry). There is another variety of the plant which has black berries but berries taste the same and the plant look the same. Black blueberries grow among the blue ones as a minority but not everywhere. Maybe the black variety was more common in ancient times.
