One more picture of the old church in Sipoo from the 1450's, this time in front of the altar backwards. The ceiling is unique for these old churches. The primitive decorations on the walls and ceiling date back to the the end of 15th century. The benches are modern donated by the Salvation Army. As the church has no heating it is used only in summer time for weddings and concerts.
The church had a wooden floor from 17th century to 1940's and benches too. The benches and some other things were sold when the church was abandoned after a new church was build in 1885. Later the value of the old church was recognized and it was restored to its almost original state and many things were brought back from museums.
