Woollen socks for newly born babies

The knitters of Finland are knitting blue-and-white socks for all the new babies of 2017 to celebrate the 100 years of independence. I am doing my share too.

What a wonderful idea! I'll have to share with my daughter she was on exchange in Finland many years ago and just loved your country and the people! And now she is to have a baby this year as well - maybe I'll have to try and knit a pair for her :) fav

This is so fabulous!!! The idea is wonderful, and unifying! I should share with you what I told my daughters when I bought their babies hand-knit socks in Nova Scotia. They were so beautifully made and such sweet designs, I suggested, when the kids had outgrown them, put them in with the Christmas tree decorations! I thought they'd be precious on the tree in years to come! (Maybe you could tuck that note in the stockings when you make the delivery of them! Being an important anniversary, all the more reason to keep them!!!)
