Immature King Eider eating mussels near Lake Michigan
This is a very rare bird for our area. My friend and I drove several hours to find and see it yesterday. It was very cooperative and dove for mussels while we took photos of it. This bird was a "lifer" for both of us, meaning we can add it to our life lists of birds we have seen at least once.
