The lake where I was birding this afternoon was still partly frozen, with snow on it, and also had open water. It created a lot of different surfaces.

Goodness me, Our US friends' outdoor shots have changed dramatically in such a short time. Your seasons are more dramatic than here in OZ. We are steeling ourselves for heatwaves any time soon - and the fear of bush fires.
