I usually see and hear several of these vocal birds every time I go out birding in spring. Their name comes from the "meow" call they sometimes make, leading you to believe there might be a kitten in the bushes.
Wonderful focus to get all that detail - my husband says I've seen them here in the backyard but I'll have to pay more attention now - I don't remember shooting one. Will be watching more carefully. Thanks for the tip about the grosbeak.
