The Flint Hills in Kansas have some of the best tallgrass prairie left in the USA because the soil was too rocky to be farmed. The grass does not get very tall until the fall.
I never knew that! Always think of Kansas as one of those states where you can see forever - not much to block your view. Love the colors here and those beautiful clouds.
